About Kanadymadom Tharavadu.
Even in the blistering heat of the summer, Kanadymadom Tharavadu grounds are cool and serene. The huge gigantic trees with its thick foliage do not let in the summer heat. They seem to stand testimony to the Mantras and Tantric rites of the holy ground. Prominent among the trees here are the banyan tree (arayaal-Ficus Religosa) that is gnarled by age and weather but benign in demeanour and is an old sentinel. The paala (Alstonia scholaris) trees seem to reach out to the skies and remind one of Yakshi and Gandhrava tales. Though centuries have passed and yet the time seems to stand still, the air is pregnant with serenity in this divine land where if you shut your eye for a moment and listen you can hear the “AOUM’ (Omkara the sound of universe) syllable resonate in harmony and peace.
The divine idol installed by Yogi Konacharya centuries ago fills us
with divine bliss, holy radiance and surrender at the first glance
itself. We can see the Chaathan Swami shedding radiance to the eight
corners of the Universe to protect the people from the evils of kali
yugam (Fourth and last yuga as per Hindu Veda). He is seen to be
atop a black buffalo with the ‘Chenkol’ in his right hand to rule
the world and the world cut into half and half again(1/4th of earth
is land) in his left hand. Devotees from all over the world come here to have a glimpse of Shri Vishnu Maya Chaathan Swami and get deliverance from their problems and to listen to the God’s advice. At the Kukshikalpa Samadhi, the great magician and Tantri, Yogi Konacharya sits in his Samadhi along with 390 Kutti Chaathans offering special Sidhis to the devotees. Prominent Gurus and Elders have blessed and given “Shaktheya Chaithanyam” as a never extinguishing flame of lamp to the Tantris of KanadyMadom who worship and perform rituals for the good of the common folk. The religious rituals are conducted by the Joint Trustees who belong to Kanady madom Tharavadu and who were entrusted with the task by the older generation which formed the Sakshaal Chaathan Seva Madom Trust. The trust has the welfare of the general public at heart.
